Waco, TX - Waco Rowing Center (WRC) is thrilled to announce a new strategic partnership with RegattaPros, a division of Rowing Mavens West, to include regatta management and organizational consulting services aimed at helping WRC realize its mission to create a center of rowing excellence in Waco.
This partnership will see WRC and RegattaPros partner to host regattas to maximize the potential of both the 10-lane, 2,000 meter course at Tradinghouse Creek and the picturesque long distance course available on the Brazos River. Along with regatta management, RegattaPros will provide consulting services to enhance WRC’s winter and spring training offerings, Learn-to-Row, Masters, and Youth rowing programs, and other opportunities to grow and develop WRC.
The organizations have already begun working on planning the future events for the Waco venues. Plans for 2025 include offering the popular Waco Rowing Regatta in November, and developing a new early season head race in September on the Brazos. Spring 2026 will see the return of sprint racing to Tradinghouse Creek, including the return of the Texas Rowing Championships.
“We are excited to join forces with RegattaPros to enhance the quality and professionalism of rowing events at Waco Rowing Center,” said Steve Cates, a member of the Board of the Waco Rowing Center. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to foster excellence in rowing and provide athletes with the best possible competitive environment.”
RegattaPros, known for their extensive experience in regatta operations and consulting, will work closely with WRC to develop best practices, optimize event workflows, and introduce innovative solutions for race management. Their expertise will not only benefit WRC-hosted regattas but also contribute to the overall growth and development of rowing in the region.
“We are delighted to partner with Waco Rowing Center and support their vision for creating a center of rowing excellence in Waco,” said AJ Dominique III, Owner of RegattaPros. “The city and organization have a great deal of potential, and we are excited to get an opportunity to bring that to life.”
