Waco, TX - Waco Rowing Center (WRC) is proud to announce their racing schedule for the Fall 2025 season.
The 4th running of the Waco Rowing Regatta will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Brazos Park East. This year, the 5,000 meter race that has previously been held in November will move to October. The new date will allow crews to get an additional race experience prior to the Head of the Charles and Head of the Hooch regattas that are the targets of most programs’ fall seasons.
The newest addition to the fall racing season will be the inaugural Waco “Head-to-Head” Race, to be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025. The regatta will be a blend of Henley-style racing using a longer, head race style format. The race will have two crews starting at a time, rowing a 3,500 meter course, providing the excitement of side-by-side racing that is typically missing from a traditional fall head race. Though racing side-by-side, medals will be awarded based on all the times across the pairings in an event, as they would in a traditional head race. This means crews will be competing both against the crew they are paired with, as well as all of the other crews in their event!
Both events will be hosted at beautiful Brazos Park East. The park provides an ideal setting for spectators and parents to watch racing, as well as a separate area with ample space for boat trailers and shell storage.
The public is encouraged to attend both events, which are free to the public. Additional viewing spots are available along the Brazos River, both from onshore parks and various bridges close to downtown.
Teams and parents travelling in for the event can find hotel options online through the Waco TPID website.
These races are the first part of the strategic partnership between Waco Rowing Center and RegattaPros, which aims to turn Waco into a focal point for the rowing community in Texas, the region, and beyond.
